Printmaking 2021

Week 7: Print exchange

This week I finished and mailed out my prints for the mail-art exchange. The edition size was 19, with one print going to the Wellesley art archive.

First I made a small edition of daffodils, inspired by the yellow ink and the changing of the seasons.

For my exchange print I kept not knowing what direction to take it. I ended up printing a drawing from my digital art last year (check it out here). I edited it in illustrator and then printed it onto the pronto plate.

In my haste to send out the editions, I did not get a high quality pic of any of the good prints, here’s one with a bit of smearing.

The print studio also had an artist in residence this week who was exploring pronto plates. I was hoping that she would teach me a trick or two, but I ended up showing her my techniques which set her up to make good prints.
